Philanthropy and Community Service
The Chi Omega founders thought it was important for sisters to devote time to causes greater than themselves. Since 2002, our national philanthropy has been the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. To date, Chi Omega has nationally raised $4.5 million and logged almost 300,000 volunteer hours! In the past, our chapter has organized an annual golf tournament to raise money for this wonderful cause. Last year we thought we'd try something a little different; In it's inaugural year, our Race-Love-Wish 5K raised nearly $11,000! We are so proud of this accomplishment and of the many participants from UCF Greek Life and the surrounding community. We look forward to next year and the years to come, as our event continues to grow and become a new campus tradition.

Chi Omegas everywhere believe service to our community is of the utmost importance. In total, our chapter logged over 1,300 volunteer hours this Spring alone. Our Director of Community Service organizes a number of service opportunities for our sisters to participate in, from a beach clean up in Cocoa with the gentlemen of Phi Delta Theta, to spending time with children at Give Kids the World. We also participated in UCF's annual dance marathon, Knight-Thon, raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. Chi Omegas are proud to give back to our wonderful community, and sisters volunteer outside of the chapter in many ways from Junior Achievement to Habitat for Humanity.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm.
As you get older, remember you have another hand:
The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.
